Reports of the Postmaster General

Reports of the Postmaster General were periodic reports of the Postmaster General to the President and Congress. Included are reports by the three bureau chiefs: Appointment Bureau, Contract Bureau, and Finance Bureau. The reports address many different subjects from the number of post offices in operation by state to contracts with railroad and telegraph companies. The Postmaster General addresses problems faced by the department and recommends legislative changes to remedy problems.
